Color: Amber +2 (Caramel colorant? It is permitted in brandy as with scotch, boo!)
Aroma Neat: Semi-Sweet Chocolate/Orange Chocolate, Dark Brown Sugar, Vanilla, Cracked Black Pepper, Cloves, White Pepper, Old Orange Peels, Musty Oak. Darkly sweet at first, with spice emerging shortly after. The whole experience is very smooth, with unctuous and well-integrated notes.
Aroma Water: Caramel, Milt Chocolate, Nougat, Roasted Peanuts, Vanilla Ice Cream, Raisins, Prunes, White Pepper, Cinnamon Sticks. Very surprising Snickers bar effect occurring. Even maybe a little Klondike bar, too. A bit simple, but occasional spicy/fruity hints keep things from being too desserty.
Taste Neat: Raw Sugar, Rich Caramel, Clementines, Roasted Nuttiness, Sulfur. Sweet! Some orange notes again, too.
Taste Water: Raisins, Dried Dates, Musty Oak, Sulfury Earthiness, Mushrooms. Ah, here are the dried fruit notes that are often associated with brandies. The sulfur becomes more noticeable with water.
Finish: Sulfur, Brown Sugar, Cloves. Warming and slightly sweet. Taste fades quickly.
Conclusion: Rich nose that is best neat. Slightly sulfured palate, which is also best neat. Simple finish which fades quickly.
